Erections are also called “hard-ons” or “boners”. This happens when the penis gets hard, long, and upright.
Erections can happen when boys feel “turned-on”, scared, surprised, angry, or when they first wake up in the morning.
Testosterone is the main male hormone. Its production increases during puberty. This allows boys to make a liquid called semen and sex cells called sperm.
Male anatomy is made up of different parts.
Male genitals contain the penis and scrotum.
Some boys are uncircumcised, and others are circumcised.
Uncircumcised means the penis foreskin is removed. Circumcised means the penis foreskin is there.
All penises have the same parts, but they can look different.

An ejaculation is when semen and sperm come out of the penis during an erection.
Boys get wet dreams when they start puberty. A wet dream is an ejaculation during sleep. This is normal.
After a wet dream, pyjamas and bed sheets should be washed with the rest of the dirty laundry.

During puberty, boys get deeper voices. Their necks and voice boxes get bigger. You can see this by looking at the bump on a boy’s neck, called an “Adam’s apple”.
This can cause some boys’ voices to “crack” when they talk. The cracking sounds stop once they are an adult.

There is much variety from one person to another!
