Puberty is when your body changes from kid to grown-up. Most kids start puberty between 8 and 15 years old.
Hormones tell parts of your body to grow bigger.
They also make hair grow in different places.
Boys, also called males, start to produce sperm.
Girls, also called females, start to release eggs and begin their periods.
Puberty starts when your brain sends signals to every part of your body. These tiny signals are chemicals called hormones.
